Privacy Paralegal
Simon & Schuster’s Legal Department is looking for a full-time Privacy Paralegal. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collegial and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Legal Department with implementation of a comprehensive privacy management program, including:
- Coordinating privacy compliance across cross-functional teams;
- Managing full lifecycle of Data Subject Requests (DSRs) under CPRA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws;
- Monitoring, updating, and maintaining various modules within OneTrust platform, including Cookie Consent and Privacy Rights Automation;
- Supporting contract and data privacy addendum management;
- Conducting privacy assessments of third-party vendors;
- Assisting with annual compliance reviews and periodic trainings; and
- Managing Privacy Administrator inbox.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate
- CIPP/CIPM/CIPT strongly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other applicable global privacy laws.
- 2+ years experience working on end-to-end management of a privacy program, including a proven track record of effectively managing DSRs
- Familiarity with OneTrust platform preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Prompt responsiveness and excellent follow-through skills
