Technology Director

The incumbent in this position is responsible for establishing and overseeing support, training and maintenance for Lourdes Academy’s instructional and administrative information technology.  Also responsible for creating a technology plan for Lourdes Academy that meets the needs of the system and the strategic plan.  This is a hands on position, with minimal supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership

  • Provides leadership to the system in planning and developing instructional and administrative technology services
  • Provides for the instruction of staff and students in the area of instructional technology
  • Works with administration and staff to align technology with system goals
  • Desires to stay on the “cutting edge” in the ever changing technology landscape

Technology Skills

  • Possess a high level technical knowledge in the broad range of technologies used in a school system
  • Maintains the setup and repair of network software and hardware
  • Provides security support for system, including hardware and software

Vision and Planning

  • Develops and administers the system technology plan
  • Prepares, with assistance from the Director of Business Services, the technology budget
  • Researches, evaluates and assists in the writing of technology grants

Communication

  • Communicates the technology vision for Lourdes Academy
  • Translates the vision into a practical and detailed technology design
  • Models and advocates the responsible and ethical use of technology

Operations

  • Oversees and approves all technology related purchases and coordinates purchases with applicable entities (Administration, Finance, Business Services)
  • Manages technology inventory and life cycles
  • Oversees Lourdes technology needs relative to systems for all areas of school operations (Enrollment, Development, Marketing, Student Information Systems, Standardized testing, Accreditation, Google application, etc.)
  • Maintains the VOIP (voice over IP) phone systems including PBX and Endpoint devices and be able to manage and maintain these services
  • Recommends upgrades or changes to hardware and software used by all system personnel
  • Sets up and repairs software and hardware as needed
  • Creates reports as needed by administration
  • Assists in setting technology policies for Lourdes Academy
  • Troubleshoots all technology related problems
  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance and quality of product or service, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency
  • Keeps current with Lourdes Academy’s security including policies and procedures
  • Understands and supports, regardless of position, the philosophy and mission of Lourdes Academy
  • Represents the interests of Lourdes Academy in work groups, committees and meetings
  • May have non-typical work hours, depending on the project at hand
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
