United Summer Associate
All participants are trained in each area and are assigned an area each day via a supervisor. Participants are moved to additional locations if necessary, depending on business need:
- Terminal/Concourse Assist
- Direct customers toward appropriate lines and kiosks
- Answer customers’ questions.
- General lobby upkeep/tidiness
- Be a United Brand Ambassador assisting with enhancing the customer experience and retaining UA customers.
- Greeting customers with friendly service in the lobby, concourse or baggage claim
- Direct customers toward appropriate line: self-serve kiosks, Premier Access, etc.
- Introduction into corporate experiences and various aviation related departments/functions
- Time spent in a mentorship with a member of the leadership team.
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Qualifications
- Ability to handle simultaneous situations and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Solid interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork and strong verbal communication skills
- Must follow United’s public contact employee appearance standards.
- United will provide two United Branded shirts for individuals to wear during their shift.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship or future sponsorship for full/part time position.
- Must be willing and able to work any shift including early morning, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be HS graduate (or GED) and currently enrolled in college.
- Must have original social security card (no copies) & government issued ID & birth certificate the day of interview with you.
- Must comply with a background check, fingerprint, and drug & alcohol screen per state/local/airport municipalities.
Transportation
- Transportation will need to be provided by student in order a have a timely arrival and departure of shift.
- Parking options vary per station; students may need to cover parking in some locations.
- United will provide public transportation information / options to USA participants.
