Summer Adventure Camp Counselor

DAY CAMP WITH STAFF HOUSING AND AWESOME PERKS!

Summer Adventure Camp at Park City Community Church promotes social-emotional learning through highly creative programming. We are a goofy, kind, wildly inventive, open-hearted bunch. Our camps are open to staff and campers of all (or no) religious backgrounds. Our mission is simply to be a safe space and a trusted support to our community. We believe camp can be one of the most memorable and transformative experiences a kid can have so we make sure all families have access to these awesome programs regardless of their ability to pay.

Activities include: gardening, belayed climbing challenges, field trips, baking contests, talent shows, a murder mystery dinner party, all-camp games like Ballistic Trivia, Gargoyles and Quest, dance parties, swimming, plein air painting, hikes and so much more!

Staff who enjoy Summer Adventure Camp are flexible, playful, energetic, creative and open-minded. We welcome applicants of any skin color, faith tradition, gender identity/expression identify and regardless of who they love.

Staff enjoy a balanced schedule with most nights and weekends off, snacks and coffee all day, comfortable housing a short distance from camp, access to all Park City has to offer including a free bus system, free live music, 400 miles of singletrack for epic hiking and mountain biking from your door and easy access to many national parks for weekend adventures!

Compensation: Newer staff earn $4000 for the summer season and staff with experience earn $5000. For those coming from out of town, we provide up to $300 of travel reimbursement. Successfully stay through 12pm on Saturday, August 10 and we'll give you a $300 bonus with your last paycheck. Staff share a beautiful Park City condo for the summer walking distance from a movie theater, grocery store, shops, restaurants, free live music and free bus system. (Rooms are shared.)

Schedule: Staff work from 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. They are occasionally required to give a short slideshow during a Sunday service to keep our community connected to what we're up to at camp. Staff will participate in 2 overnight experiences together during the course of the summer, one being during our training week.

Job Requirements

Summer Adventure Camp requires lots of energy and endurance. We fit a lot in and stay moving most of the time. We expect staff to be able to keep campers engaged with minimal breaks during the day. Successful counselors are the kind of people who mingle with the kids during activities, think up ways to make camp as special and interesting as possible and are not often found sitting on the sidelines.

Staff must complete a background check, reference check, CPR/First Aid/AED course, 2 hour online training and 4-day staff training. Schedule: Staff work from 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. They are occasionally required to give a short slideshow during a Sunday service to keep our community connected to what we're up to at camp. Staff will participate in 2 overnight experiences together during the course of the summer, one being during our training week.
