00000425565 Wire Design Engineer (Associate, Experienced, Senior)

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated & experienced Engineer to support the Bombers programs located in Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering background with Wire Design experience. 

 

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior level Wire Design Engineers.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews.

Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).

Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).

Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

Develops basic statements of work. Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.

Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.

Works under general direction.

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

1+ years of experience with MIL spec connectors and backshells

1+ years of experience working with wiring diagrams and/or functional schematics

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

3+ years of experience leading a team of 4+ other engineers

A basic process understanding or experience working at a wire bundle manufacturing facility.

Familiarity with aircraft electrical safety requirements and certification.

 

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift.  

 

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Associate - Level 2): $75,650- $102,350 Summary pay range (Experienced - Level 3): $90,950 - $123,050. Summary pay range (Senior - Level 4): $111,350 - $150,650.
