OVERVIEW OF POSITION:


Works under the supervision of a licensed psychologists to perform psychological functions (e.g., diagnostic assessments, psychological assessments, etc.). Assists the licensed psychologist in providing diagnostic assessments to individuals for potential of autism and other developmental disabilties, referral, and clinical consultations. Works with the licensed psychologist to ensure clinical, communication, quality, and service standards are maintained.

 

Starting Salary: $40-$45per hour
Part time and Full-time openings available

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


▪Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, conducts assessments to determine a diagnosis of autism or other developmental disability utilizing standardized assessment measures.
▪Schedules and conducts necessary testing appointments at clinic setting.
▪Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, provides feedback to clients and families regarding outcomes of diagnostic assessment with referrals, as a appropriate.
▪Writes diagnostic reports and documents necessary details using electronic medical records accordingly. Ensures reports are submitted in a timely manner according to expected due dates.
▪Remains current regarding new research, current trends, and developments in autism and developmental disability diagnosis and related fields. Participates in presentations, conference attendance, article reviews, and research projects/initiates as needed.
▪Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:


▪Completed a master's, doctoral degree, or is an admitted candidate for a doctoral degree in psychology with a field specification in clinical, counseling, school counseling, forensic, industrial, or organizational psychology or education with the field specification in educational psychology, counseling psychology, or school psychology.
▪Registered with the State of California Board of Psychology as a Registered Psychological Associate.
 

 

EXPERIENCE:


▪2+ years experience treating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
▪Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
▪Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
▪In-depth knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods.
▪Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience.
▪Strong observation and critical thinking skills to accurately evaluate patients’ demeanor and identify symptoms (based on both observation of person and record reviews).
▪A great bedside manner and the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and patient while interacting with patients with severe mental disorders.
▪Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups, and a variety of professionals. Must relate well to participants and their families and maintain positive affect.
▪Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentations.
▪Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
▪Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals of Southern California and/or program requirements.
▪Ability to travel locally; maintain a driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
▪Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
