About the Position:
This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.
Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer, the incumbent performs the transportation field and office electrical, electronic, and related traffic engineering work relating to traffic signals. The incumbent conducts surveillance, analyzes the data, makes real time adjustments, coordinates signals, and documents operational modifications to traffic signals. This role assists in coordinating the development, design, and operations of traffic signals. The incumbent acts as an engineering support in all phases of Project Development (PJD) and Office of Encroachment Permits. In addition, responsibilities include review of plans, specifications, estimates, shop drawings, signal timing diagrams, and Synchro files and reports. The incumbent performs field inspection and traffic signal turn on. In addition, the incumbent assists in the collection of traffic operations field data, preparation of reports, traffic engineering studies, and other related traffic operations related work.
The incumbent is required to pass the Department of Justice background check.
