Donor Relationship Coordinator (Business Development)

Job Title: Business Development Intern - 200 dollars per month Stipend
 

Responsibilities:

Donor Strategy:

  • Design and implement a Donor engagement strategy. Identify potential donors, communicate effectively with them, and persuade them to contribute to FundaMental Health.
  • Build and maintain a Donor database using Bloomerang (Donor management platform).
  • Assist our grant writing consultant with researching and developing applications for various grant funders.
  • Plan and implement crowdfunding and peer-to-peer donation campaigns.

Collaboration:

  • Work directly with our CEO, Wyatt, on fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design and implement campaigns that align with business development goals.
  • Lead projects involving cross-functional teams, including marketing and clinical departments, to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.

Essential Skills:

  • Independent Initiative: This role is ideal for someone who thrives on overcoming challenges independently. If you frequently find yourself needing to ask, "What should I be working on?" this internship may not be the best fit.
  • Technical Proficiency: While we don't expect prior experience with all our software, the ability to quickly learn and use platforms like Google Workspace, Bloomerang, WordPress, Monday.com, Slack, GiveButter, and LinkedIn is essential.
  • Writing Skills: Strong writing skills are necessary for creating informational materials and communicating with Donors, Partners, and Providers.
  • Sales Acumen: While direct sales experience isn't required, skills such as making a solid pitch, confidently communicating over the phone or in person, and focusing on closing deals will be beneficial.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to create and maintain organic and meaningful relationships with potential partners is crucial.
  • Teamwork: The ability and patience to collaborate effectively with various departments within FundaMental Health (e.g., Marketing, Clinical) are critical.
  • Passion for Mental Health: A personal connection, background, or strong interest in the mental health space is essential. Candidates must truly care about the impact of their work.
     

Logistics:

  • This is a remote/virtual position with the option to work in-person with Wyatt at a co-working space in Encinitas, CA.
  • Ideally, candidates will have a reliable computer with access to stable internet. We can discuss alternatives if needed.
  • Interns will receive a FundaMental Health email address and access to necessary platforms/software.
  • This is an unpaid internship, but we are happy to assist with any paperwork required for class credit or similar acknowledgments.
