Compliance Data Analyst Intern (Summer 2024)

About the Position:

The Compliance Data Analyst Intern will be exposed to a broad array of corporate ethics and compliance and environmental product compliance tasks. In this role, the Compliance Data Analyst Intern can expect to work on optimizing various processes through data analysis and implementation of data extraction processes. The Compliance Data Analyst Intern will gain practical in-house compliance experience relevant to a corporate environment. The main project the intern will be tasked with is assisting with The Europe (EU) Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) compliance.

 

The summer internship will run from Monday, June 17, 2024 – August 16, 2024 on a 40-hour work week schedule, with potential to extend or hire depending on business need and individual performance.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • CBAM compliance (primary responsibility):
  • Monitoring regulatory updates and updating company practices accordingly
  • Emissions data collection and CBAM report preparation
  • Supplier coordination efforts
  • Collaborate internally with relevant stakeholders
  • Optimize extraction of Ethics Index survey data
  • Data analysis for historical survey results
  • Assist with compliance fraud risk project implementation
  • Identify gaps in extracting and using HSE data
  • Create program for team members to submit volunteer hours
  • Improve functionality of export country profile documents
  • Automate extraction of reputational due diligence system data to Intranet

 

Required Qualifications

  • Rising undergraduate junior or senior for academic year 2024 or graduate student (JD, MBA, etc.)
  • Business degree background or educational background in law, sustainability, or environmental compliance
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Extensive Excel experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Independent worker
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Tableau, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in format editing for PDF documents
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Word, Windows, and PowerPoint
  • Dependable and reliable in meeting target deliverables
  • Work effectively as part of a team

 

The compensation for this position is $25/hr for undergraduate interns and $27/hr for graduate or returning interns. This position is eligible for holiday pay but is not eligible for benefits.
