Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.

This position is entitled to a $250.00 pay differential per month based on Bargaining Unit and/or work location.

The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for one permanent, full-time Engineering Geologist position in the Toxic Cleanup Division.

The position is located at 1515 Clay Street, Suite 1400, Oakland, right in the heart of downtown and close to BART stations and other public transportation.

In-person interviews for this position are to take place in the Oakland office.

Duties:

Under the close supervision of a Senior Engineering Geologist, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing Site Cleanup Program and underground storage tank cases in accordance with federal and state water quality laws, regulations, and policies and guidelines The incumbent is required to perform difficult professional water quality control-related technical work, and lead complex projects in support of technical, engineering, and programmatic functions. The incumbent is required to work independently, communicate effectively, manage multiple tasks, complete site inspections, and become proficient in clerical duties. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
