Enterprise Solutions Architect

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is dedicated to optimizing the health and well-being of the people of California. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) within CDPH advances it's vision of "Healthy Individuals and Families in Healthful Communities" through the provision of high quality information resources and technology.  The Technology Integration Services Branch (TISB) provides the technological foundation that CDPH relies upon to support our mission and strategic plan implementation.  TISB’s goal is to provide all CDPH programs with the resources and services that enable them to excel and innovate as a national leader in public health.

Under the administrative direction of the Information Technology Manager II, Chief, Technology Integration Services Branch (TISB), the Information Technology Specialist III (ITS III), acting as an Enterprise Solutions Architect, works within TISB by partnering with the Enterprise Architecture Services, Enterprise Platform Services, Enterprise Cloud Services and various other sections to design and implement technology solutions that are pertinent to the future success of both business and technology within CDPH. The ITS III serves as the expert level advisor and is responsible for the most critical and complex architecture, research, design, support, and development of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. As the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect, the ITS III is responsible to design and implement systems to meet the needs of the organization and recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems. The ITS III identifies and selects hardware and software in support of CDPH’s infrastructure hosting systems and data center support (i.e. data center servers, blade systems, SAN Storage, backup and recovery, and software visualization platform support) and supports Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud environments. The ITS III works with internal and external stakeholders, and provides subject matter expertise on IT infrastructure improvements and/or enhancements to support organizational goals.
