CTPP is recruiting diverse candidates for our Advertising Specialist (Associate Governmental Program Analyst) position. This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by working toward achieving a tobacco-free California and to reduce tobacco-related illness and premature deaths by implementing programs to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.

The incumbent works under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, (SSM I), Chief, Communications Unit. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) has responsibility for major components of the advertising and public relations campaigns, including coordinating activities of the strategic media health marketing advertising, social media and public relations campaigns, collaborating with the Media Unit, the Local Programs and Advocacy Campaigns Unit, the Health Equity and Local Programs Unit, the Strategic Planning and Policy Unit, the Evaluation Unit, and others on CTPP’s statewide media health marketing campaigns. Monitors advertisement contract performance; develops materials for release to either California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and/or Health and Human Services (HHS) Agency executive staff, newspapers, reporters, and the public; and assists in the procurement development and contract award process for both public relations and advertising agency contracts.
