Facilities Services Specialist

Facilities Services Specialist (Planner/Scheduler)

Duty Location: Final determination of duty station will be made at job offer stage & set at one of the following locations: Fort Smith, MT or Billings, MT.

Salary

$49,025 - $77,955 per year

Duties

This is not a remote position.
-Plans and coordinates long-range project planning, including actively participating in developing the one-year plan which has operations, maintenance, and administrative components.
-Develops and provides limited analysis for management maintenance decisions for facilities, securing repair parts, making adjustments in support scheduling.
-Assists with conducting one or more portions of the most cost-effective method for accomplishing work after careful consideration of the factors involved.
-Manipulates various software programs including Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, DOI Enterprise-wide Asset Management (Maximo), and other software.
-Prepares work orders from approved work requests following research of documents contained in equipment history files.

Conditions of Employment

You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position.
This position is subject to a baseline audiogram.

Qualifications

 

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience and/or education requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume and/or by supplemental documentation.

GS-07
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in Federal service which includes experience working in an automated database and reviewing plans and schedules to meet project deadlines.
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education. The education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
SAA: Must meet one of the following: Upper 1/3 of graduating class based on completed courses; 3.0 or higher out of possible 4.0 based on four years of education or based on final two years of curriculum; 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 based on average of required major courses or required major courses in final two years of curriculum; Member of national scholastic honor society which meets requirements of Association of College Honor Societies.
OR
Combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.

GS-09
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service which includes experience working in a maintenance management database; compiling historical maintenance records, craft backlogs, and/or maintenance downtime reports; and reviewing plans and schedules to meet project deadlines.
OR
Education: A masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate degree leading to such a degree. The education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
Combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
