Minimum Requirement:
A Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
We need you to submit proof of education along with the application. Acceptable documents are: A photocopy of diploma or official transcript
OR
A verification or confirmation letter from the school's
Registrar's Office
on the official letterhead of the school, with a college/university seal. It should indicate that the student has completed all of the academic requirements
All documents should clearly indicate the degree and the date when the degree was conferred or awarded. The degree must have been conferred or awarded by June 30, 2024.

The Program


The County Management Fellow program is designed to enhance County succession planning efforts and enable departments to invest in their future leadership. You will take part in a two-year program within a Los Angeles County department, perform meaningful work, and participate in a specialized assignment that supports strategic and operational goals. The program will also provide you with opportunities to develop skills that will help prepare you to compete for future County leadership positions.
You will have 160 hours of formal training during the program. Our training curriculum allows you to develop and hone skills in areas like leadership, supervision, and more.
 

Essential Job Functions

What does a Management Fellow do?

Plan and conduct studies on major departmental programs, operations, and administration to determine their effectiveness and the need for modification or changes in policies and procedures.

Analyze data and trends to make forecasts and recommendations for programs or administration in areas such as project management, IT, communications, legislation, and change management.

Develop and recommend policies, programs, or procedures to address issues or improve operations.
Work with a mentor to share experiences and gain advice for professional development.
