Gender Health Equity Specialist

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by promoting equitable social, economic, and environmental conditions to achieve optimal health, mental health, and well-being for all.

The HPS I functions as a highly skilled technical program consultant who regularly performs duties that include confidential and sensitive departmental and program issues in the area of grant development, management, and community engagement. The HPS I will be responsible for managing and overseeing contracts and grants under the LBTQ Health Initiative including, but not limited to, those related to initiative and program evaluation, research focused on LBTQ populations, and technical assistance and training for local community-based organizations. The HPS I will be familiar and culturally competent with health issues related to LBTQ communities, and experienced with program management, monitoring, and evaluation.
