General Job Description:

This is health education and training work of limited scope and difficulty. Assignments expand in scope and responsibility as the employee gains experience. Assignments require evaluative thinking and are carried out in accordance with standard practices and work instructions. Employees in this class contribute to the development and promotion of health-related training and education programs. Work is performed under the general supervision of a technical superior.

EDUCATION:

 Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university.

NOTE: Completion of a relevant industry recognized certification or additional experience may substitute for the required degree on a year for year basis.

 EXPERIENCE:

 Two years of experience in a health or social service agency or program which has included developing and implementing a community education and/or training program designed to change health attitudes or behavior.

NOTE: 

Completion of a master’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Community Health, Health Administration or a closely related field and valid certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) issued by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing may substitute for two years of the experience required.

 

Candidates MUST submit a copy of their official college or university transcript(s) indicating completion of the educational requirement and all required licenses, registrations, or certifications at the time of application. Transcripts MUST indicate conference of the appropriate degree. Candidates with a degree from foreign colleges or universities must submit proof of degree as certified by a professional evaluation service.
