Compliance and Financial Section Chief

The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) supports the mission and services of CDPH as well as implementing the technology required to ensure the success of the public services and meet the expectations of the people of California. The IT Fiscal and Administrative Branch, within ITSD, advances this purpose by providing excellent customer service to divisional and departmental employees.

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager III, Chief of the IT Fiscal and Administrative Branch, the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II) (Supervisory) has full supervisory responsibility for leading and directing activities for the Compliance and Financial Section. The SSM II serves as the Section Chief responsible for overseeing a team of professional and technical staff by mentoring, assigning work, evaluating performance of staff, establishing objectives, and providing guidance to the team. The SSM II is responsible for operational efficiency, fiscal and budgetary support needs including fiscal impacts and plays a critical role in the preparation of budget change proposals (BCPs), invoice approvals and departmental drills.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of governmental budgeting and accounting 
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
