Job Description and Duties

Would you like to be part of a growing and exciting fish hatchery program? Do you have a passion for fish and wildlife, working outdoors? The Inland Deserts Region Fisheries program is seeking to hire 2 Seasonal Aids to assist with daily tasks and duties associated with the maintenance of Mojave River Hatchery. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on, career-building experience in Hatchery mainteneance and raising and caring for fish.

Working Conditions

Ability to elevate 40 pounds and be capable of handling 50-pound feed and salt bags; get in and out of 4-foot raceways; willingness to work in and around water; rk in all weather conditions - wind, rain, extreme heat, cold and direct sunlight; climb steep banks when necessary; work near waters with uneven terrain and unpredictable flow; ability to climb ladders; open and close various types of valves. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, work on weekends and holiday schedules.
