Summary of Position:

Teach undergraduate economics courses in multiple delivery methods that may include face-to-face, on-line, and a hybrid/mixed delivery format.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate teaching excellence. The College of Business is dedicated to providing a learning experience for its students that instills knowledge, competencies, and skills for entry level positions and job advancement in their chosen careers. To facilitate this, faculty are expected to be student oriented and able to integrate current technology into the learning environment. Office hours are required, one office hour per week for each course taught.

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience teaching or coaching in the management industry is preferred. To enhance the relevance and currency of the instruction, current management practitioners are preferred.

This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.

The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2024 at the earliest and January of 2025 at the latest.

MBA or master's in economics or related field from an accredited university.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:

Ph.D. in economics or related field from an accredited university.
Teaching experience in undergraduate economics courses.
Online teaching experience.
Economics related work experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate management courses in multiple delivery methods that may include face-to-face, on-line, and a hybrid/mixed delivery format.

Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification.
