Electrical Engineering Intern

As an intern at Aircapture this summer, you will take ownership of your own projects and explore opportunities within the company that align with your interests and skills. Working closely with our experienced Engineering team to develop cutting edge Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address climate change.

Standout candidates are studying computer or electrical engineering and have an innate desire to change the world. You also have excellent problem solving and communication skills, the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and a strong drive to seek out their own projects and opportunities within the company.

Pay rate: $25 per hour

What You’ll Do Here

  • You will work hands-on in a deliverables-focused environment–you will get real world experience in our state of the art facility in Berkeley, California
  • You will work closely with senior electrical engineers and electrical technicians

We are open to candidates with interests in one or more of the following areas:

  • Work on one or more projects from your choice of interests in support of our engineering teams. During these projects you will learn various skills not limited to:
    • Human machine interface (HMI) design
    • Basic web design for remote data extraction
    • Automation of data gathering and analysis
  • Day-to-day shop floor activities may include working alongside the electrical team on the following:
    • Work with industrial controls, panel wiring, and schematics
    • Work hands on with panel, instrument, and equipment wiring

Your Skills and Abilities Include

All of your work experience is interesting to us–please include part time jobs, summer jobs, work/study, entrepreneurial endeavors, and volunteer work on your resume

  • Studying electrical or computer engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in instrumentation and software development
  • Interest in user-interface design using Windows forms/Visual Studio
  • Availability for a full time, paid internship this summer–you’ll have July 4th week and some Fridays off so you can rest and enjoy your summer
  • Motivation, curiosity, and the desire to pursue a project to its full potential
  • Interest in working at an innovative start-up that is creating and scaling a circular carbon economy

Preferred Skills

Proficient with the following:

  • Python, Arduino and AutoCAD
  • C#, Visual Basic and SQL

This position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of 40 lbs or more.
