Philanthropic Partnerships Intern

Summary

Save the Children’s U.S. Programs (USP) division is seeking an intern for fall 2024 on our Philanthropic Partnerships, External Affairs team. The remote internship will provide you with an opportunity to use your critical research skills to conduct prospect research and new business development to support our work across rural America. Save the Children’s expertise is on reaching children early - from birth through elementary school; and our goals are to increase kindergarten readiness and grade-level literacy and math proficiency for children in under-resourced rural communities. The External Affairs department of USP is a collaborative team that is dedicated to driving resources (cash and Gift-in-Kind) to support our programs across rural America. We are seeking an intern to support our Philanthropic Partnerships team across a variety of fundraising projects, with a primary focus on prospect research and new business development.

What You’ll be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Conduct prospect research on philanthropic opportunities that are aligned with the U.S. Programs strategy and funding priorities.
  • Draft persuasive content across core programming areas to develop high-quality donor materials and resources for speaking engagements, briefs, proposals, fundraising reports, learning sessions, etc.
  • Support the overall stewardship and relationship management of USP-focused donors.
  • Research current fundraising trends and innovations that are strategically aligned with our programs and rural strategy.
  • Support other special projects and initiatives related to fundraising priorities and goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an actively enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor, Master or other post high school education program, or have graduated within 6 months of intern program start date
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Currently eligible to work in the U.S.

Classification:       Paid Intern or Fellow

Part-time:              16-24 hours per week (up to 8 hours max per day)

Dates:                     September 23 – December 6, 2024

Compensation:     $17 / hour (interns only)
