The advertised position is in the Office of Youth Tobacco Enforcement (OYTE). The mission of OYTE is to reduce the illegal sales of tobacco products to individuals under 21 years of age through effective enforcement of the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) Act.

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by promoting health and wellness and improving state health outcomes, advancing protective measures and reducing risk.

The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) in the Administrative Support Unit (ASU) of the Office of Youth Tobacco Enforcement Unit (OYTE) will be assisting in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the Office’s budgets, contracts, and enforcement programs. The incumbent assists in providing technical, analytical, and consultative support in areas of Budgets, Contracts, and administration to all levels of OYTE management. The SSA will also act as a liaison with Local, State, Federal regulatory agencies, and the public to ensure its mission to reduce the illegal sales of tobacco products to persons under 21 years of age through effective enforcement of the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) Act.

  • Current knowledge or, or able to quickly learn, an array of remote communication and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
