Job Summary
The Madison Adventure Club (MAC) program provides Madison students safe, affordable, high-quality before and after school care. The MAC program embraces the concept that high-quality before and after school programs can positively support greater engagement in learning and increased academic achievement.
The club leader is the staff that works directly with the children to support the after school program. Hours vary depending on the school assignment. Hours range from 12:30pm-6:00pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Implements daily Club activities.
- Utilizes instructional materials effectively to stimulate learning, exploration and creativity.
- Maintains an environment that which promotes cooperation, learning and enjoyment.
- Establishes and maintains standards of acceptable behavior using non-punitive methods that supports Children's self esteem
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with children, parents and other staff members.
- Supervises children's activities to insure safety at all times.
- Assists in planning children's daily activities, as assigned.
- Performs clerical and clean-up duties, as assigned.
- Attends all staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Relates to children, staff and public in a positive manner.
- Understands and applies safety precautions as outlined in MSDS.
- Able to administer First Aid and CPR, if necessary.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent. (A copy will need to be provided.)
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate positively to children, parents and staff.
- Have or be able to obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR and First Aid Certification
- Ability to complete a minimum of 18 hours of in-service credits in appropriate school-age course work each year.
- Mantoux TB Test Results (prior to first day of employment). Within 12 months of hire date.
- Proof of current pertussis.

Salary: $16.20/hour starting
