Job Description
Role Overview:
Bellevue’s Physician Assistant Service operates independently from house staff, providing 24/7 coverage with PAs supervised by attending physicians. The service consists of general internal medicine teams and one pulmonology team.
Work Schedule:
- Three 12.5-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) with some nights and weekend responsibilities.
- Additional moonlighting opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical care in collaboration with attending physicians
- Conduct patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, for new admissions under the supervision of an attending physician.
- Attend daily clinical rounds with the attending physician.
- Perform all related clinical tasks efficiently, adhering to high-quality standards.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans that prioritize patient and family preferences, while improving care quality and cost-effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant; or
2. Current limited permit issued by New York State to practice as a Physician Assistant.
