Drinking Water Infrastructure Engineer

This position is the Drinking Water Infrastructure Engineer (Engineer 5-DCL) for the State of Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health.  

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform complex reviews of existing infrastructure for water systems across the State of Louisiana. These systems may be identified by the RWIC or by the Chief Engineer. The reviews shall include a physical inspection and an analysis of required improvements and associated costs. Performs analytical reviews for the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWRLF) and also American Recovery Program (ARP) funding. Manages ARP funding projects within Engineering.

 

  • Prepare reports regarding infrastructure analysis for drinking water systems. Present material in reports as necessary to the Governor’s office, elected officials, water system personnel, LDH employees, etc. Presents findings and reports to legislators as necessary for infrastructure projects and for ARP funded projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering and one of the following:

1. Two years of licensed engineering experience OR Six years of professional engineering experience.

2. 1 year of Drinking Water Experience plus 2 Years of experience in cost estimates/project management for infrastructure projects.
