Digital Inclusion Staff Support
Digital Inclusion Coordinators assist with daily operations in the Digital Inclusion Unit within the Community Engagement Division. The mission of Digital Inclusion programs is to leverage skills and relationships to create community-centered solutions that provide access to technology and resources needed to participate in the Digital Economy.
Raleigh Digital Connectors (RDC) aims to cultivate the next generation of digital equity leaders by providing education about digital inclusion, leadership development, and service-learning opportunities to youth 9-12th grade. Raleigh Digital Ambassadors (RDA) aims to expand and increase digital inclusion services to the City of Raleigh residents through service learning and community engagement.
Work Hours:
This position will be scheduled primarily in the afternoon between 3:00 pm - 8:30 pm, on weekdays, and must work on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position assists the Digital Inclusion Unit to:
- Coordinate, facilitate, or assist with the program of Raleigh Digital Ambassadors
- Keep the computer distribution space organized and clean and distribute computers to underserved residents as needed
- Manage Lab reservations and maintaining the space clean and organized
- Support digital inclusion service events and the supervision of Raleigh Digital Ambassadors
- Recruitment and retention processes of the Raleigh Digital Ambassadors Program
- Coordinating with internal and external partnerships that support the unit’s Digital Inclusion initiatives and mission
- The Raleigh Digital Connectors Program and related projects, providing support and assistance as needed
- Attend required trainings and meetings
Typical Qualifications
Candidates must have a strong work ethic, pay attention to detail, have a desire to learn, and be able to work independently. Experience with volunteer service, customer service, and strong communication skills are required.
Computer Skills:
- Must have strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Google Drive
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership skills and the desire to lead a productive team are strongly desired

ADA and Other Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed both indoors and outside.
