SUMMARY
Mountain Lake is a historic gated community in Lake Wales, approximately 55 miles from Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1916, Mountain Lake was developed with the help of Frederick Olmstead III, and noted golf course architect Seth Raynor. The golf course is often ranked in the top 100 courses in the country. Mountain Lake built the "Colony House" in 1916, which is a seasonal hotel with approximately 32 rooms, and is open for three meals a day from October 1 to May 1.
The course has Tif-eagle bermudagrass greens, Zoysia grass tees and 419 bermudagrass fairways and rough. The Club has retained golf course architect, Tyler Rae, to develop an enhancement plan for the golf course greens and bunkers. This restoration is scheduled to begin summer of 2026.
Golf Course Maintenance/Agronomy Intern works directly under the supervision of the Golf Course & Grounds Manager and Senior Assistant Superintendent and is responsible for the maintenance and care of the golf course and related grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Basic walkmowing (greens, collars/approaches, tees), bunker raking, cutting cups, course setup
2. Flymow bunker faces
3. Basic weedeating, edging, blowing, etc.
4. Mow fairways
5. Aerify and verticut greens and fairways
6. Topdress playing surfaces
7. Irrigation maintenance/repairs
8. Walk-spreading fertilizers
9. Assist in irrigation repair and maintenance
10. Sod laying
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other work-related duties and special projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

ð Currently enrolled in a Golf Course Maintenance or Agronomy major (or working towards)
ð At least 6 months of Golf Maintenance experience
ð Knowledgeable of basic golf etiquette
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
ð Valid driver license
