Land Use Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Land Use Technician to support our Wireless Telecommunication and Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure teams. This team is working to connect the world through the advancement of digital and sustainable infrastructure. The primary responsibility will be the administration of all aspects of the zoning & permitting process flow related to a variety of projects. You will assist the Land Use Planner and Project Manager by preparing and submitting jurisdiction applications to obtain necessary entitlements and construction permits. Strong communication skills are necessary to successfully work with multiple teams and jurisdictions to effectively hit project forecasts. A successful candidate will be able to manage internal and external databases and relay project updates to our clients. This is a great opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team and gain valuable experience in the planning field, specializing in wireless telecommunication and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

 Essential activities

  • Obtain necessary zoning entitlements and construction permits for wireless telecommunication and electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects.
  • Manage internal and external databases to track project statuses
  • Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) maps and jurisdictional websites
  • Analyze jurisdiction ordinances to support Land Use Planner on zoning regulations
  • Manage zoning and permitting timelines related to permit applications
  • Communication with the jurisdictions and internal/external teams
  • Initiate daily FedEx, certified, and standard mailers and corresponding tracking reports scan, title, and upload document

Additional Job Duties:

  • Drafting photo simulations
  • Client deployment calls
  • Travel (10%)

Experience

  • Hands-on proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience working with zoning & permitting documents, real property leases, and easements is preferred
  • College degree preferred, but not required

Licenses or Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license
