2025-26 Junior High + High School Band Teacher (7-12) - Anticipated

Bondurant-Farrar CSD is seeking a Band Teacher (Anticipated) at Bondurant-Farrar Junior High and High School (serving grades 7-12) for the 2025-26 school year.

This anticipated position will work primarily at Bondurant-Farrar High School (serving grades 9-12); the exact sharing/lesson schedule in the vertical teaching model will depend on the successful candidate's instrumental strengths.

 This position will also serve as the high school's Assistant Marching Band Director*, and direct the 9th and 10th grade ensemble.

*Separate pay for the assistant marching band director will be determined based on experience, per the supplemental salary schedule.

  • Valid State of Iowa teaching license, with appropriate endorsement(s) or certification(s)

  • Bachelor’s degree in position related area

Pay

  • The 2025-26 Salary Schedule will be available soon!
  •  
    • Minimum salary of $50,000; additional money for experience and educational hours

Scope: To help students develop knowledge and skills and talents that will contribute to their talents in order that they may become productive citizens.

Reports to: Building Principal

Requirements: Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education

Performance responsibilities:

  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible meets the needs, interests and abilities of students
  • Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives
  • Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meetings stated objectives
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports
  • Maintains effective communications with the principal, students and parents
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required
  • Performs other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the board or administration
  • Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district student achievement goals
  • Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position
  • Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction
  • Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meet the multiple learning needs of students
  • Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning
  • Demonstrates competence in classroom management
  • Engages in professional growth
  • Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district
