
Speech Language Pathologist Teacher
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST TEACHER, Grades K-8
Art & Science Academy (ASA), a public charter school district with two schools (grades K-4 and 5-8), is seeking a K-8 Speech Language Pathologist Teacher to begin in August 2025. This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) position with benefits.
Position will remain open until filled.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Minnesota Speech Pathology License through the Minnesota Department of Education.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Direct service delivery with elementary and middle school age children
- Knowledge and experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Skills with SpEdForms for IEPs, evaluations and MA Billing (due process)
DESCRIPTION:
- Pre-referral consultation to general and special education teachers
- Case management for students with speech-language impairments only
- Due process compliance, third-party billing, program data collection, funding reports, etc
- Lead classroom social skills groups using predetermined social skills curriculum
- Prepare and instruct individualized articulation sessions
- Support language during reading centers in the classroom
- Teach functional life skills class
- Direct intervention services to students in the least restrictive environment (include classroom-based service)
- Indirect intervention and consultative services to teachers and school staff
- Other site-based and special education duties, including support of district literacy goals
- Promote play and development of problem solving skills
- Assist with development and implementation of School-wide Technology and Augmentative Communication; programming and use of iPads for communication for children that have limited communication skills.
