Health and Safety Co-op/Intern

HEALTH AND SAFETY CO-OP (US)

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Health and Safety Lead, the main responsibility of the Health & Safety Co-op will be to support and promote Health and Safety initiatives to ensure the Health & Safety of our team members. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Get to know and understand the Health and Safety program at FGF Brands 

• Involvement with Workplace Inspections and identifying potential hazards in the workplace 

• Understand and use the 5WHY analysis to determine root cause 

• Involvement with Safety Committees, what they do and the importance of their interaction with production safety 

• Importance of Risk assessments and how they are used to identify hazards and eliminate injuries in the workplace 

Key Qualifications 

• Post-secondary education in Health & Safety, Sciences, Public Health or related field 

• Strong analytical skills 

• Proficiency with Excel and data manipulation 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to coordinate with various functions/ departments to get tasks completed 

• Able to balance time between the production floor and computer work 

• Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment 

• License and Access to vehicle is preferred – travel is required between sites
