Practice Transformation Intern
The Practice Transformation Intern will support the department's efforts to assist physician practices and healthcare entities in transitioning to value-based care models. The intern will gain hands-on experience with clinical quality improvement, data analysis, care coordination strategies, and operational workflows within Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) or similar environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering and analyzing clinical and operational data to support performance improvement initiatives
- Support project teams in implementing quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma)
- Help prepare educational materials, presentations, and tools for physician and staff engagement
- Participate in practice site visits (in person or virtually) to observe transformation strategies in action
- Document best practices, workflows, and lessons learned from transformation initiatives
- Collaborate with IT, Quality, and Population Health teams on reporting and analytics projects
- Conduct literature reviews and benchmarking to identify innovative strategies in value-based care
- Provide administrative and coordination support for department meetings, webinars, and trainings
Qualifications:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Medicine, Data Analytics, or a related field
Preferred Skills:
- Strong interest in healthcare quality, primary care, or population health
- Basic understanding of healthcare delivery systems, ACOs, or value-based payment models
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
