Mission:

It is our mission at Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) to teach, support, and model healthy life skills to youth and families by providing therapeutic and educational interventions to end violence.

 

Overview:

Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) specializes in transforming the effects of trauma, neglect, and abuse in the lives of children. Our commitment is to respond to the needs of the community and our clients by integrating current research to create individualized treatment plans and multi-modal treatment approaches which are adaptive, vital, and effective. Alternative Homes for Youth is a non-profit residential facility for at-risk adolescent males ages 15-20.

                             

We provide adolescent males with a “Sanctuary for Transformation,” helping them achieve mental and emotional wellness, create lasting behavioral change, and develop a sense of empowerment to make positive choices and create their own healthy futures.

 

Job description:

Core responsibilities include: 

  1. Managing caseload of up to 6 clients
    1. Providing Individual and Family Therapy and
    2. Attend Multiple Disciplinary Team Staffings
  2. Co-lead Therapy Groups catered to your educational emphasis
  3. Attend weekly Clinical Meetings and Group Supervision
  4. Participate in after hours On-Call Risk Assessment

Hours: Full-Time 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, One Work-from-Home Day each week 

 

Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) or provisionally licensed/license-eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized training and experience in working with adolescents, particularly youth with trauma histories
  • Residential treatment center experience
  • Strong writing abilities and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Certified Addiction Specialist
  • Experience/training in family therapy
