What You’ll Do:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Accounting Intern to join our Accounts Payable Department! In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in day-to-day AP operations while learning from a team of professionals who are passionate about sharing what they know.

Things You Will Learn and Be Exposed To:

• Support automation enhancements in the accounting department
• How to print, prepare, and mail out weekly check runs
• Analyze EFT, virtual card, and wire payments for the accountants and cash planning
• The ins and outs of invoice processing, including keying and importing invoices into Yardi
• How to review invoices in Payscan and assist with invoice corrections
• Best practices for researching payment issues and reissuing checks
• Exposure to 1099 processing and stale check procedures
• Opening and sorting AP mail, including handling returned checks and vendor correspondence
• Providing invoice copies and backup documentation for team requests
• How to support a fast-paced, detail-oriented corporate accounting team

What You Bring to the Table:

• You’re currently working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• You have strong attention to detail, accuracy and good with numbers.
• A willingness to learn.
• You are comfortable using Excel, Word, and Outlook
• You’re organized, professional, and reliable
• You thrive in a team setting but can also work independently
