Marketing & Artist Development Intern, Universal Music Group
over 3 years ago
The reason why it is called the marketing/artist development internship is because you are using marketing skills and techniques to help develop artists, so the two go hand-in-hand. Essentially, you are a marketing intern and work on the album releases for artists. You help with the timeline for the album releases and you get to see the full process of promoting and marketing an artist and their albums from start to finish. It's great because you get to work on multiple artists' work and if you are someone who enjoys forming creative and innovative marketing ideas or concepts for artists, then this is the right place for you. You do not get to work one-on-one with artists, but I feel that if you simply enjoy marketing then that should not really be a factor. You get to work on their plans and strategies but not with them.
