People Operations Analyst

What I liked

Working at Guidewire as a newly graduated professional has made me a more confident and creative person. The culture here is so inviting and encouraging where no one is afraid to ask for help. As my role includes providing support to Guidewire employees, I found that my team was always very patient and willing to lend a helping hand. Work life balance and flexibility is something that Guidewire values and gives to their employees which would sets the bar high for me. I've enjoy every moment interning at this company and believe this is a model company for students or new grads looking for their first job or internships.

What I wish was different

If the world circumstances were different, I wish I had joined at a time where a pandemic was not occurring. Although I cherish remote working and believe it suits my working style the best, I wish I could have experienced my position where everyone was in the office. The type of connections and collaboration that would happen could give me a whole different experience than I have now but nonetheless, I am still very happy with my current experience at Guidewire.

Advice

One piece of advice I have learned from this experience is to not be afraid to ask for help or to share your ideas. Often times as a student, we can sometimes be conditioned to stay within certain parameters or instructions for assignments. I feel that I had the hardest time transitioning out of that state of mind to being able to share my ideas out, even if I felt it was not good. If you are in a supportive group, no question or idea is not worthy of sharing :)
